Greetings!
SHRP 2 has released 4 new RFPs, which are available on the following page. The proposals are due on August 28, 2012, at 4:30 PM.
C39A: Additional Pilot Tests to Improve TCAPP (Revised RFP) The broad intent of project C39A is to engage agencies in additional pilot tests of the utility of Transportation for Communities-Advancing Projects through Partnerships (TCAPP) web tool and the Decision Guide as enhancements to decision making in the planning of additions to highway capacity. Please note that this RFP has been modified to specifically allow for teams led by consultants and/or universities. A previous requirement for a minimum level of work effort by public agencies involved in proposals has been dropped from the RFP.
C43: Second SHRP 2 Freight Modeling and Data Innovation Symposium The primary objective of project C43 is to plan, convene, and document a second Innovations Symposium for freight modeling and data, which will tentatively be held in the fall of 2013 in the Washington, D.C., area. SHRP 2 is seeking a contractor team to successfully carry out all aspects of planning, arranging, hosting, and documenting the symposium.
C46: Resource on Advanced Integrated Models and an Implementation Strategy This RFP combines two topics approved by the SHRP 2 Oversight Committee: (1) developing a primer on activity-based travel demand models and their relationships, linkages, and interactions with land-use models and dynamic traffic assignment network models; and (2) examining the benefits, barriers, and practical issues that MPOs, state DOTs, and other transportation agencies face in migrating from a "traditional" approach to travel demand modeling to an activity-based modeling approach.
L35: Local Methods for Modeling, Economic Evaluation, Justification and Use of the Value of Travel Time Reliability in Transportation Decision Making The purpose of this project is to introduce the economic value of travel time reliability into practice, test it, and provide public agencies with examples of step-by-step procedures on how to incorporate and justify the value of travel time reliability into decision making.
