Workshop at TRB Annual Meeting: SHRP 2 Accelerated Bridge Construction Projects in Action

Greetings!
SHRP 2 will host a workshop on SHRP 2 Accelerated Bridge Construction projects at the 2012 TRB Annual Meeting on Sunday, January 22, 2012 from 1:30PM- 4:30PM at the Omni Shoreham Hotel. This workshop will present the accelerated bridge construction (ABC) toolkit and other ABC activities under development as part of SHRP 2, including two demonstrations of innovative ABC techniques and laboratory testing. Information from a bridge completed in collaboration with the Iowa Department of Transportation and ongoing plans for a second bridge demonstration project in New York State will also be presented. Presentations will include the following topics:
- Road Ahead for ABC: Challenges and Opportunities
- ABC demonstration in Iowa-Modular system
- ABC demonstration in New York-Bridge movement using lateral slide
- Ultra High-Performance Concrete in ABC
- ABC Toolkit for design and construction
