Recycling at Direct Energy Centre

 

Direct Energy Centre in Toronto, Canada's largest convention and exhibition facility, has embraced organic recycling by instituting compostable foodservice cups, lids, packaging and more. The waste stream also includes bottles and cans, paper and trash.

"This is what visitors need to get rid of," says Mike DiMaso, Senior Facility Coordinator. Direct Energy Centre works with CleanRiver to manage this complex waste stream.

Project Nest Box is an environmental education program developed by CleanRiver that provides durable bird nesting boxes made from recycled plastic, and an opportunity for students to participate in scientific monitoring and research.
