Excelsior Expands its Continuum of Care with its New Community Based Services Program

In an effort to expand the continuum of services we provide to our Denver-Metro area girls and their families, Excelsior created the Community Based Services Program. Developed in cooperation with local mental health centers and behavioral health organizations, Excelsior's Community Based Services Program was designed to prevent or reduce the need for placement out of the home or community and includes: Outpatient Services, Day Treatment and Short Term Intensive Residential Treatment

Social and Developmental Considerations for Risk of Suicide in Adolescence

Suicide is generally believed to be a choice made by an individual who is in the midst of severe physical or emotional pain which does not seem to have an end point.  Suicide in this way is often seen by the individual as a solution and escape from their pain.
