By Demelza Newman, Therapist for Summit Cottage

Feelings come and go like clouds in a windy sky. Conscious breathing is my anchor.

-Thich Nhat Hanh

The goal of Experiential DBT is to work with the body and mind to create more "Wise Mind" approaches to living. A "Wise Mind" approach to living allows for a flexible, balanced response to whatever life throws at us.  Through various experientials that utilize creativity, movement, and the uniqueness of each participant, individuals develop a set of effective coping skills to tolerate a variety of situations.

Relax on a Greek Isle

By Kathy Graveley, Director of Development

Imagine wallowing for a week on a Greek isle in your very own converted windmill. Perched on a hillside--in Greece on the island of Hydra-the home has spectacular panoramic views of the picturesque town and historic harbor. The windmill is very private and very romantic. It has a pool with a view and lots of shady gardens to hide away--to read, relax, sip wine and just get away from the outside world. All of this can be yours if you are the high bidder on this incredible travel package offered at Excelsior's annual fundraising event THE PASSPORT PARTY, Saturday, March 19, 2011.
