Dear :
You're probably wondering
what in the world the "ole golf pro" is doing starting a newsletter... and I
don't blame you. Well, that's an easy one: I want to develop a closer relationship with and stay more
connected to my clients and people who love golf.
Our fast paced society and
technologies have caused personal contact to be replaced with impersonal
electronic communications like voice mail, text messages, and email where
the emphasis is on speed. So I thought a monthly newsletter with
interesting content would be of value to you and provide me with a personal
way of staying in touch.
Content: The Newsletter will be oriented around golf and
include tips, student success stories, local events, PGA news that affects the
game - grooves rules - and other relevant information that should be of
interest. I'll also feature a
section where I answer a limited number of questions that have a broad
application interest wise.
Personal
Information - My Family: Please indulge me here while I tell you a little about my family and me
- no more after this... promise. My lovely bride Stephanie has put up with me for
25 years and we have three terrific children:
- Michelle is a senior
at ASU majoring in painting and an excellent soccer player.
- Marc is a sophomore at
SCC majoring in business and quite the budding golfer.
- Grant is a senior at
Desert Mountain and will attend SCC this fall. He's not sure about a major - but is a real computer
buff and a Junior Black Belt in Karate... so I watch myself.
I've
been an avid golfer for 40 years and involved professionally for the past 31
years. During that time I was an active PGA Tour player for 4 years, spent some
time in golf management, and have devoted the last 22 years to instruction for
all levels of play - my real passion and talent.
The Club At Black Rock: As
many of you know I'll be going to Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, to serve as Director of
Golf Instruction for The Club at Black Rock from June 1st through September 15th.
Arizona summers aren't particularly conducive for golf lessons and folks leave
town to escape the torrid heat. However, Coeur d'Alene's weather is much cooler and the
club has an active golf membership so I can stay busy while keeping my game
sharp for you in the fall.
That's it for now. While away I'll publish the
Newsletter each month from Coeur D'Alene so you won't miss a beat or a
tip. Stay cool, hydrated, and be
safe over the summer months. If
you play golf, hit 'em long and straight... and get down in two.
In order to view colors
and images in the Newsletter please set your email program to HTML.
