A Memorial Day Greeting...
Dear Fellow Patriots,
For many - if not most - Americans, Memorial Day is a "paid holiday," a day off work. More emphasis is placed on those cooking the hot dogs than on those who wore the dog tags. But not this year. Not this day. And not us.
We cannot allow the sacrifices of our soldiers' through the years to have been in vain. We cannot lose through apathy and inactivity what they have died to save. Soldiers are called upon the take up arms and possibly lay down their lives to protect the USA from threats abroad. As Citizens, we are called upon to take up our rights and responsibilities to raise our voices and cast our votes to protect the USA from threats from within.
Soldiers are trained and equipped to do their jobs. They become experts in using their weapons. They train in strategy and tactics. So we too, as citizen/soldiers in the war for freedom, must be trained and equipped. Our weapons do not have triggers and scopes, but tongues and pens. Just as a military presence in a foreign country can be a stabilizing influence, so a citizen's presence in a commissioner meeting or a legislator's office can be a stabilizing influence.
I challenge myself and you that for this Memorial Day, one of the ways we will honor our fallen heroes is to renew our commitment to become involved citizens. We do not have the luxury of sitting on our sofas or in our offices and allowing the professional politicians and bureaucrats to run our country/state/county/city unchecked. They are elected/hired by us to protect and defend us, not manage us.
The opportunities to become a better equipped citizen are many and easily accessed. One place to begin is at our www.takingourcountryback.net website. I am placing the challenge before you to be more involved. As your act of remembrance on this Memorial Day, pledge to accept this challenge.
