Did tea party ideals really win the day? Maybe not. As more news has come through during the day, it appears it may not be as good as I originally read. I can't find again were I first saw $78+ billion in cuts. It looks like I 'jumped the gun' in thinking it was better than it really is. Here is an article with a different perspective by Dick Morris. It appears that proposed funding cuts to the EPA, and for Obamacare and other proposed cuts did not survive the compromise. I understand there is a need for compromise; however, why is it always the conservatives to compromise? If Republicans in Congress can't get stand firm on these things, how will they get the Paul Ryan proposed budget passed. We must stay strong and keep up the pressure. Following is today's original newsletter...
Tea Party ideals win the day - did they?
This news is to good to hold in. The Republicans in congress did what we hoped they would do - they stuck to their guns and won. Even Chuch Schumer said, "... every week they keep upping the ante and proposing extreme cuts."Among the items of importance are $78+billion in cuts, defunding Planned Parenthood, and defunding the healthcare reform law. Read more below and write your congressman and say "KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK." |
