.Dear fellow patriots,
As we approach Thanksgiving day, we certainly do have a great many things for which we should rightly and enthusiastically give thanks. While heartfelt thanks is due to a great number of individuals who have contributed so much in time and effort to the cause of "taking our country back," at this time we focus first on the ONE from Whom all blessings flow.
The routine saying of a blessing over a meal is often done quickly and with most gratitude directed to the food and the preparer. However, it is the LORD God of Heaven Who "gives seed to the sower and bread to the eater." It is He Who is the Ultimate Source of every good thing Who deserves to be the Object of our thanks. He gives us the very breath we breathe. He is the Shelter in the storm and the Rock upon which we stand. He is Way, the Truth and the Life. The hope we have in Him is "an anchor of the soul."
Our best words fall immeasurably short of giving Him the Glory that He is due. The totality of our best acts of kindness fail to even register on the scales of His righteous judgment. Were it not for Him being the Word of Life and then on the cross exchanging His perfect and sinless life for our sin-stained and self-centered soul, we would have no hope of Eternal Life in Heaven with Him. As we accept this Great Exchange, this free Gift of Eternal Life through Jesus Christ His Son, we are adopted into His family, becoming heirs of the Kingdom, having been redeemed from our empty way of life by His precious blood.
For this Salvation, I am Eternally grateful.
I am also thankful that God is being gracious to us and giving us another chance to become better stewards of the blessings He has given us in our country. I believe that we have an opportunity to better "secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity," as says a portion of the preamble to the Constitution. These very words from our Founding Fathers convey the idea that the blessings of liberty can slip away if they are not secured. One thing that has been made abundantly clear to us in these last years is that indeed liberty is slipping away. We must be committed to restoring the concepts and principles imbedded in the Constitution to secure this liberty as our Founding Fathers intended. This Constitution was not something a few men forced upon an unwitting population, but as they stated very dramatically in letters writ large, "We, the people" wrote this. "We, the people of the United States, in order to form a more perfect union, establish justice, insure domestic tranquility, provide for the common defense, promote the general welfare and secure the blessings of liberty to ourselves and our posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America."
