Active Students are Ready to Learn

How do students learn best?  At Fizika, we believe students will be more prepared to learn and get better grades by having more physical education, not less.

Take a look at this remarkable video telling the story of one school, in Naperville, Illinois, that has proven physical activity boosts academic achievement.

Our Get Straight A's with Fizika program helps you deliver on this potential, and we're proud to offer some exciting new tools that will transform your program.

Eat Right With Color!

March is National  Nutrition Month, a campaign focusing attention on the importance of making informed food choices and developing sound eating and physical activity habits.

  • Let color be your guide to healthy meals, and create a rainbow of nutrients in your family's meals.
  • Find out more about how to improve the nutritional health of America's youth.
  • Learn how to prevent or manage diabetes, in recognition of American Diabetes Alert Day March 22.
Cross-Country Run To Promote Youth Fitness
Dean Karnazes run
Dean Karnazes (in blue) begins  cross-country run to promote youth fitness.

"LIVE! with Regis and Kelly," a popular talk show, has teamed up with ultra-marathon runner Dean Karnazes for a coast-to-coast challenge designed to inspire Americans--youth in particular--to get up, get active and get healthy.

On February 25, Karnazes began a run of nearly 3,000 miles, aiming to average 40-50 miles daily, the equivalent of nearly two marathons.  He is scheduled to complete his run May 11 at LIVE's New York studio.

As well as sending a message about fitness, the run will benefit Action for Healthy KidsŪ, a nonprofit teaching kids to eat right, be active every day and ready to learn.

Innovative, Inspiring and Accessible: Golf in Schools

ISGA logoFizika is proud to announce our new partnership with the In School Golf Association (ISGA). The ISGA vision and mission: to equip students to confidently get on the golf course, but  with innovative new features and instructional benefits.

What makes the In School Golf Association innovative?

  • Providing a multi-media, multi-station curriculum that fully engages all students -- athletic, non-athletic, boys, girls and most of the physically disadvantaged.
  • Establishing a great outdoors, character-developing
life sport as an exciting and viable option for the students, almost all of whom had never envisioned golf as a sport of interest.
  • Developing original technology that would provide real swing and distance feedbacksafely for up to to 75 students at a time, in an indoor setting.
  • Injecting PGA professional instruction developed at the PGA Learning Center in a fun, simplified and accessible format emphasizing individualized goal setting rather than pinpointing swing defects.
  • Involving local professionals and surrounding facilities to encourage and support the pursuit of this new athletic experience.

 What about cost and instruction?
  • Minimal cost per student over a three-year cycle: about $1 per student.
  • The program can be taught by existing PE professionals, even if they themselves have not played golf.
  • An online support community offers information to educate parents and students on the affordability of golf, the minimum requirements of the game and inexpensive local options for further instruction or golf courses to use.
