OAG January Meeting
How Fast Can You Create a Masterpiece?

Monday, January 16 from 7-9PM!

City Arts at State Fair Park

How fast can you create a masterpiece? Oklahoma Art Guild members are invited to find out at the next meeting on January 16th from 7-9 pm at CityArts Center. Friends of members are invited to participate in the event for a fee of $5.00.

Here is how it works - Every one will get assigned the same theme, supplies and allotted amount of time to create their work. Before the end of our meeting, the pieces will be displayed and every member will get to vote. A friendly critique will take place. Prizes (gift cards, art supplies, etc.) will be awarded in several categories. The grand prize winner will get a CASH prize and be named our Artist of the Month for January! So get your creative mojo ready as we participate in a creative competition with prize money for the winner!

Information on "Oklahoma Friendly 2012" and how to photograph your work for entry will be available at this meeting!

OAG February Meeting
Crash Course in Design

Monday, February 20 from 7-9PM!

City Arts at State Fair Park

Regina Murphy will lead us in a "Crash Course in Design"

Her years of experience and collection of knowledge will help you produce better works. Please join us as she answers these 4 questions:

1. What Makes a Good Painting?

2. Do you know why one landscape, still life or portrait is better than many others?

3. Do you know how to judge your own work?

4. What are the secrets of good design?

THE ANSWERS LIE IN THE PRINCIPLES AND

ELEMENTS OF DESIGN

We will also be selecting the OAG Artist of the Year 2011! If you were selected as Artist of the Month in any month of 2011, you are eligible for this award! If available, please bring the piece chosen for the Artist of the Month. If this piece is not available, you may substitute a piece of your choosing. Remember that all who participated in the "Creative Critique" meeting last July are also eligible for this award!
