City Arts at State Fair Park 

 

Harvey PrattOur next meeting on October 17th from 7-9pm at the CityArts Center will include the unique opportunity to hear from Harvey Pratt, one of the leading forensic artists in the United States.  

 

Harvey has spent over 42 years in law enforcement and has completed thousands of witness descriptions. His forensic specialties include: witness description composite drawings, skull reconstruction, skull tracing, soft tissue postmortem drawing, age progression, courtroom sketching, and historic reconstruction. His ability as a forensic artist has assisted in thousands of arrests and aided in hundreds of identifications of unidentified human remains throughout America. He works as the police forensic

artist for the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) and is the only full-time police forensic artist in Oklahoma.  

 

He is an accomplished award-winning master Native American artist skilled in many mediums: oil, acrylic, watercolor, metal, clay, and wood. He is a Cheyenne and Arapaho tribal member.  To learn more please visit:

The Oklahoma Art Guild is proud to invite the public to our 56th Annual Members' Fall Art Show at the Simply Oklahoma Gallery, 108 South Division Street, Guthrie, OK. The show will display and offer for sale artworks in every imaginable media and style. Opening reception is Sunday, November 6th from 2:00-6:00pm. The show is on display November 5th thru November 19th, Wednesday thru Sunday from 11am-4pm. Prospectus is available online. You must be a current OAG Member to enter this show. Read more...

Exhibition Opportunities

Ronald J. Norick Downtown Library  

November 1st - 21st 

Both 2-D and 3-D family-oriented art by OAG artists will be displayed in a glassed-in display area at the main entrance to the library. Size limitations may apply. No sales or pricing permitted on site, but you may label your art with your contact information. This pre-holiday exhibition is an opportunity to display your work in time for the gift giving season in a high traffic venue. Space is limited and will be allotted on a first come, first served basis.   

 

Frontier Country Museum in Crescent, OK

JANUARY & FEBRUARY, 2012 

2-D family-oriented art and a few 3-D pieces by OAG artists will be displayed in a prominent area at the main entrance to the museum. Size limitations may apply. You may label your art with both price and your contact information. Museum personnel will handle sales. Space is limited and will be allotted on a first come, first served basis. I have personally had a show there, and it was well supported and attended. The museum will promote the show in the local paper and with flyers. More definite info later.

This exhibit is the culmination of more than a year's work by four mixed media artists on four separate and distinct art journeys. When they first came together, the artists discovered that each of their bodies of work embraced some aspect of the natural world, not immediately obvious, but multi-layered and requiring closer examination and contemplation by the viewer.

One of the most highly-anticipated juried art exhibitions of the year is returning to the Paseo! 

 

Inspired and sponsored by artist Michi Susan, this Paseo Arts Association juried exhibition CHALLENGES artists to create a mixed media, three-dimensional container of some type. The judge, Mr. Jon Burris, will look at originality and how well the artist interprets the idea of a container.

  

Summer Wine Gallery on Paseo

Sunday, the 16th of October will mark our first "Sunday at Paseo Creek". There will be live music on the Paseo Creek stage by the The Crescent Trio, demoing artists, and a winery will be present. Each gallery on the creek will have some snacks. And ...there will be fun for all - please join us! Many OAG Artists are represented!!!
