FOLLOWING OUR "INNER GOOGLE"...
During a recent presentation by a friend, he wisely used the word intuition to point out that what frees us in the creative process is a felt sense--that which enlightens us not to something we can do, but to something we must do. I have described gnosis in both the introduction and content of the books to come from me in this same way, using intuition as the broom (or is it the vacuum cleaner?) I ride through life. Indeed, what governs my life and gives me freedom to express life passionately and artfully is based on my favorite definition of gnosis: the intuitive awareness of spiritual truth.
Discerned as intuitive awareness, Gnosis is the felt sense, and what it is we must do--the truth of our walk. Spiritually speaking, this is the way we live and breathe and have our being. This is what it means to live artfully, to demonstrate life from the inside, out. I sometimes jokingly refer to this as living by our "inner Google".
Note that the word truth in the definition of gnosis is in lower case, inferring that intuition is not the absolute truth for all. Intuition, our felt sense, is our own inner truth, which informs each of us individually of what we "must do" through intuitional empowerment. Intuitive awareness is what frees the one receiving it, garnered through our innate inspirational/intuitional capacity. Quite obviously, the term spiritual means to be inspired, to be at one with spirit--intuition, gnosis, a felt sense. Thus, the awareness of gnosis is something that leaves exercising anything contrary to its message inconceivable, and thus an unacceptable alternative.
To demonstrate the felt sense in each successive moment of now fulfills our purpose in being, filling our life purpose and journey with authenticity. Being faithful to this, and only this, renders us complete and is our only real identity.
Wherever else it is that we seek completion, completion cannot be found. All we need exercise is our spiritual awareness and, lo and behold, completeness shows its face--demonstrated as you and me and all like us. Should you begin viewing yourself and all around you from your sense of completion, you'll be amazed at the glow life will take on for you.
On the day of Thanksgiving--on every day --I give thanks for intuition. I give thanks for my innate ability to discern and demonstrate the truth of my being. And I give thanks for you...
