Scholarship Drive: You Made it Happen!
A note from Kathy Scott, executive director of Leadership Clark County, on our second annual scholarship drive: "One of the five exemplary leadership practices from The Leadership Challenge by Kouzes and Posner is the practice of' 'Encouraging the Heart.' I want to thank you, our incredible alumni, for encouraging my heart and the hearts of so many in this community. Our latest scholarship appeal is one example -- you have really stepped up to the challenge! The final figures are not yet in, but we know you have exceeded last year's total of $5,000. Your generosity will make it possible for several students -- for whom lack of funding would have limited access -- to reap the benefits of the LCC program. Congratulations to all!" Although the class competition is over, the need is still great. We welcome contributions at any time. To make an online donation, go to: http://www.leadershipclarkcounty.com/donate.shtml.
Many thanks!

LCC Calendar LCC Board of Directors meets on Tuesday, May 4.
The next LCC Alumni event is Thursday, May 6. The topic is emotional intelligence. See the article in this edition of The Update.
The LCC session on Justice will be held on Friday, May 14, at the Larch Corrections Center. Thanks to our session sponsors, Cascade Dental Group and Larch Corrections Center. Session captains are Dominique Merriweather, Mike Bomar, Ahmad Qayoumi and Paul Wienecke.
Special recognition is due for Cascade Dental Group (CDG), a long-time sponsor of LCC and a strong community supporter. At a time when many other organizations are curtailing donations, CDG increased their contributions by sponsoring both the LCC Orientation and the May Justice session. We greatly appreciate their commitment to our program. Be sure to join us on Friday, June 11, at 7 p.m. at WSU Vancouver for graduation for the Class of 2010. With this class we will have 500 Leadership Clark County graduates doing great things in the world!
