If you would like to order the DVD please fill out the form below. The cost is $15 and 100% of the profit goes back to the pre-school department!

Feature Article Fourth Grade visits Mission San Juan Capistrano
Fairmont's Anaheim Hills' 4th grade students visited San Juan Capistrano Mission on Tuesday, Nov. 30, 2011. Their mission exploration began with a guided tour by an experienced docent who engaged the students in the learning process. Students also learned that the mission buildings were built out of adobe bricks, which were a mixture of clay, water, straw, and manure. Afterwards, they had an opportunity to be involved in the adobe brick making process. Each student created their own adobe brick which they were allowed to take with them. All individual bricks will be on displayed in the classroom during our upcoming Open House in February 2012.
This educational field trip supports the 4th grade Social Studies curriculum. It is the perfect introduction to our unit on California Missions. As missions have become an important part of our state's history, it is important that students not only learn about them, but have the opportunity to explore one as well. |
