FPA Pumpkin Patch
Our first ever Pumpkin Patch was a tremendous success and everyone really enjoyed it. We had lots of great pumpkins to choose from, craft booths, popcorn/cotton candy/yummy cookies and drinks, a bounce house, and a photo booth. It was amazing! Of course, it would not have been possible without the generous donation from the Horowitz family, the help of our volunteers, and all the families who participated. Check out the pictures on FLICKR

Pre-School Fire Department
The City of Anaheim Fire Department visited some of the pre-school rooms this week and the students had a wonderful time learning about the fire truck and the equipment!

Fourth Grade "Walk Though California"
Mrs. Cornish and Miss Romo's fourth grade classes participated in the "Walk Through California" on Thursday, October 27. This presentation is designed to allow students to actively participate in the lively retelling of California's rich history. Through the use of games, music and storytelling, history comes alive! Students wear costumes representing California history and have the opportunity to be 'experts' in a part of California History! Check out the pictures on FLICKR
Pep Rally
Congratulations to all the 'fall' athletes! Over 60 Fairmont students participated in Tri-Way Football and Volleyball and DSL Football and Volleyball. We had a Pep Rally to thank them for a season of hard work and effort. It is always a challenge to juggle academics and athletics, and these students took the challenge! For a little fun, Athletic Director, Marcus Arias set up a grade-level obstacle course that required football skills, volleyball skills and the most difficult skill...pumpkin pie eating! Sixth Grade won the obstacle competition and earned a free dress day!

Fifth Grade Cow Eye Dissections
The fifth grade students had a dissection lab and they were looking at the various parts of a cow's eye including the cornea, iris, lens, retina, and tapetum. Students have spent the past month studying how the eye functions and the role of each part of the eye in vision. Our students were incredibly anxious to use their scapels and tools to investigate and learn a new lesson! Check out the pictures on FLICKR

Feature Article Red Ribbon Week
The campus was a sea of RED on Monday! We kicked-off Red Ribbon week with dressing up in RED, signing our "I pledge to be drug free" banners, making classroom posters and tying ribbons on the fence. Tuesday was "Let's Put A Cap on Drugs" and there were some VERY creative hats and caps. Wednesday was "Smarties Don't Do Drugs" and we all got to eat Smarties candy...yum! On Thursday we celebrated "Stay in the Game Day" by wearing our favorite team's jersey (Go Ducks!). The students were absolutely amazing and creative on Friday..."Drugs Makes You Crazy Day"! Crazy hair and crazy socks were everywhere. We all had fun during the week, and we hope that the drug-free message contiunues to reach our students. It is an important message, and Fairmont Private School hopes Red Ribbon Week has also given parents an opportunity to speak honestly with their children about being drug-free.
