Welcome Back from Mr. Drake
I would like to warmly welcome all of our students and families back to school for the 2012/2013 year! We are looking forward to a great year here at Anaheim Hills, and I am pleased to share with you some of the exciting changes, upgrades, and additions we have to look forward to this year.
You should have also received communication about our new uniform requirements. Please be sure to read through these communications carefully prior to shopping for new uniform items. This year will be a transition period when both the old and new uniforms can be worn, and the new policy will be fully enforced in the 2013/2014 school year. The uniform policy revisions were made in response to parent feedback, and we are excited to be able to respond to your requests with a uniform policy that better reflects our private school environment.
From a technology standpoint, we are pleased to now have interactive whiteboards in all of our classrooms, and we are beginning to incorporate iPads in the library and some of our classrooms. Our education department continues to research trends in education technology and make our school the optimal environment for 21st century learning.
We also welcomed one of the Mable Campus' exceptional teachers Ms. Ashleigh Swiatkowski to our team. She is teaching 5th grade. We hope you will all show her a warm Anaheim Hills welcome.
Lastly, the Anaheim Hills campus is continuing to invest in extra-curricular education. Our wonderful parent association ordered us a new kiln for the art lab, and will also be offering a very robust schedule of after school extra-curricular classes based on popular demand by our parents.
It is an exciting time here at Fairmont, and we thank you again for entrusting your students to us. I hope you had a wonderful first week of school, and I look forward to seeing you on campus soon!
All my best,
Mr. Barry Drake
