First Baptist Church OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 10:00am to 4:00pm 265 West 79th Street at Broadway
Come discover this neighborhood landmark, completed in 1893 and designed by George Kesiter, situated at a major crossroads of the Upper West Side. First Baptist features an eclectic Italian Romanesque Revival facade and a gorgeous stained glass barrel-vaulted ceiling. First Baptist is included in the proposed Riverside-West End Historic District Extension I.
First Church of Christ, Scientist OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday, October 7th from 1:00pm to 5:00pm Central Park West at 68th Street
Discover this 1901 Beaux Arts church designed by Frederick R. Comstock, recently emerged from a mult-year restoration that returned the white marble and granite facade, green copper dome (measuring 42 feet in diameter and rising to a total height of 100 feet), grand entrance doors, and glorious interior to their orignial splendor. First Church was designated a NYC Landmark in 1990 as part of the Upper West Side/Central Park West Historic District.
Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 1:00pm to 5:30pm West 86th Street at West End Avenue
An architectural, cultural and spiritual anchor of the Upper West Side, The Church of St. Paul & St. Andrew, was designed by the architect R.H. Robertson and completed in 1897. This church is an eclectic mix of Romanesque, Renaissance, and Classical styles featuring a 108-foot octagonal tower and a 1,000 seat sanctuary. St. Paul and St. Andrew was designated an Individual Landmark in 1981.
West End Collegiate Church OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 9:00am to 2:00pm Sunday, October 7th from 1:00pm to 4:00pm West End Avenue at 77th Street
Designed in 1892 by Robert W. Gibson, the West End Church is modeled on the 1606 Vleeshal in Haarlem in the Netherlands. This style has the picturesque qualities of the Gothic and the brown Roman pattern brick is trimmed freely with quoins and blockings in buff terra cotta.Designated an Individual Landmark in 1967.
West-Park Presbyterian Church OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 5th from 9:00am to 5:00pm Amsterdam Avenue at 86th Street Tours offered throughout the day
Possibly the only example of a Richardsonian Revival-style church to survive in Manhattan, West-Park features robust stonework and heavy round arches that reflect the popularity of medieval Romanesque forms. Materials include Lake Superior red stone and Longmeadow brownstone, a material on no other known religious structures. Built in two parts (Leopold Eidlitz designed the chapel in 1884 and Henry F. Kilburn designed the sanctuary in 1890), WP was designated an Individual Landmark in 2010.

New York Society for Ethical Culture OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 10:00am to 5:00pm 2 West 64th Street at Central Park West
Designed in the Art Nouveau style in 1910 by Robert D. Kohn, this landmark building has a solid limestone facade facing Central Park with an 812-seat concert hall, a Rogers digital organ, and a Steinway B grand piano. It was designated an Individual NYC Landmark building in 1974 and is also included in the Upper West Side/Central Park West Historic District, designated 1990.
Saint Michael's Church OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm Sunday, October 7th from 12:00pm to 5:00pm
Designed in 1890 by Robert Gibson, this church's interior features spectacular stained glass windows by Louis Comfort Tiffany, seven lancet windows, two altars, and raredos It's gleaming white limestone facade is a true landmark on Amsterdam Avenue. It is on LW's Landmark Wish List.
 St. Vincent de Paul Church OPEN HOUSE Saturday, October 6th from 9:00am to 5:00pm 127 West 23rd Street at 6th Avenue Talks and tours throughout the day
Built for New York's French community, the church features two building facades, mural paintings, and exquisite stained-glass windows depicting French religious history.
