Historic Districts Council hosts Coffee Talk: Understanding NYC's Home Improvement Business Law Neighborhood Preservation Center 232 East 11th Street, Between Second and Third Avenues
Monday, October 1st, 8:30-10AM
Start your Monday morning off with a cup of java at the latest in the "Coffee Talk" series, hosted by our colleagues at the Historic Districts Council. As many homeowners know, undertaking restoration or repair work can present a myriad of challenges that go beyond the work itself. The Department of Consumer Affairs (DCA), New York City's watchdog for maintaining a fair marketplace, works to protect property owners from misleading trade practices through its Home Improvement Business Law.
Join HDC on October 1st as Ricky Wong, Director of Community Relations at the DCA, gives helpful hints on hiring home improvement contractors, explains the Department's licensing requirements and addresses questions concerning property owners' rights when undertaking construction projects.
RSVP to bzay@hdc.org.
