Countdown to City Council Sub-Committee
Public Hearing: 9 DAYS

Earlier this month, we asked you to mark your calendar for a public hearing to discuss the
Riverside-West End Historic District Extension I.  With just 9 days to go, your active support of this important neighborhood issue remains critical!  Here's what YOU can do to help:

FIRST, plan to attend the public hearing on Wednesday, October 3rd!

WHO:  City Council Sub-Committee on Landmarks
WHAT:  Public Hearing to consider the
                           Riverside-West End HD Extension I
WHEN:   Wednesday, October 3, at 11AM
WHERE:  250 Broadway, 16th Floor Committee Room

Put your support of the Riverside-West End HD Extension I -- and the two additional historic district extensions, also anchored by West End Avenue, that are still awaiting their votes at the Landmarks Commission -- on the record at Public Hearing!

Stand with us and our colleagues the West End Preservation Society (WEPS) as we urge the City Council Sub-Committee on Landmarks, Public Siting and Maritime Uses to support the designation issued in June by the Landmarks Preservation Committee and approved of by the City Planning Commission.

SECOND, share your words of support with the City Council!

An email or letter from you is absolutely essential to let the City Council members know just how important it is to preserve this incredible ensemble of buildings.  If they don't hear from you -- NOW -- it could cost the neighborhood its landmark protection.

Sending an email or writing a letter to your Council Member takes just moments; click here to get step-by-step instructions
We must sow the seeds now for favorable votes at all stages of the City Council's review.  Please help by emailing and sending your letters today!  For additional information or with questions, please call us at (212) 496-8110.

As always, LANDMARK WEST! thanks our friends, neighbors and colleagues at the West End Preservation Society (WEPS) for their tremendous leadership on this issue.
