 | "Save the Beacon", by Jules Feiffer, is up for auction! |
Going Once, Going Twice ...
Online auction to benefit LW! On Friday, LW! announced the start of an exciting online auction, featuring original prints by internationally acclaimed cartoonist, playwright, screenwriter, and author Jules Feiffer.
The "Save the Beacon" print celebrates the tireless efforts of devoted citizen advocates who formed the Save the Beacon Theatre Committee in 1984 to protect the famed performance venue from an inappropriate and insensitive discotheque conversion.
As the Beacon Theatre set the stage for this year's celebration of our "Unsung Heroes of the Upper West Side" Awards Ceremony, we were reminded of the incredible work to protect this landmark structure (both exterior and interior!).
Head to eBay to place your bid and join the auction excitement! Bid strategically and bid often! The monies raised from the Jules Feiffer online auction will fuel LANDMARK WEST's continuing advocacy efforts, as we work to preserve and protect the Upper West Side's architectural resources and utterly unique sense of place. ________________________________________________________________________
