"Perfect." "Spectacular." "That smashing long table!" "Are we in Tuscany?" "I'll remember it for decades to come."

Such was the mood for the first-ever Landmark Feast on Sunday, September 25, 2011!

The scene was quintessentially New York - the historic Upper West Side skyline...the resplendent green of Roosevelt Park...the glowing Rose Center for Earth and Space at the landmark American Museum of Natural History - and the spirit was convivially al fresco.

Thanks to all you friends and neighbors who took part in this warm celebration of life's essentials -  great food, architecture, parks and, most especially, community - benefiting LANDMARK WEST! and Friends of Roosevelt Park.  Nothing could delight us more than seeing so many of our nearest and dearest so joyful, relaxed and sated!  Your cheerful support almost certainly assured the auspiciously timed break in recent stormy weather...

Another favorite line of the night: "Can we do this every Sunday?"

Yes, we can! In fact, each and every day, it is the Upper West Side's unique combination of beauty, character, and people that makes this neighborhood, hands down, the best place on earth. Add world-class culinary talent and soul-nourishing ingredients conscientiously produced within arm's reach of where we live, and you've got a recipe for bliss.

Great neighborhoods and great food play a tremendous role in our daily lives, sustaining us in ways that go far beyond shelter and sustenance.  Both require active stewardship. Both are key to a bright future.

Here's to a future with many more Landmark Feasts!  Again, thank you for your support.
