Upper West Side Street Fair This Weekend

Presents

"Manhattan Valley Family Days"

       When:  Sunday May 22nd  11am-5pm

       Where:  Amsterdam Avenue, btwn 106th-110th 

 

Activities include: Taino Nation Dancers, Dominoes, Live Music, Pigeon Flock Flight Demonstrations, Art Projects, Drumming Circles, Karate and Tai Chi Lessons, Face Painting, Box City for Kids, Pottery Wheel Demonstrations, Kids' Mural Project,Composting Demonstrations, Help Create Songlines for West Side Streets, Clothing Collections for  Re-use and Recycling 

 

There will also be E -Waste Recycling! Bring unwanted computer equipment, household batteries, and compact fluorescent bulbs for responsible disposal or reuse.

 

This street fair is a part of NYC Department of Transportation Weekend Walks Program

More than 130 Congregations Across State Participating
 
Open House Weekend May 21 and 22
'Be a tourist in your own town'
 

Landmark churches and synagogues from the five boroughs are participating in a "Sacred Sites Open House Weekend" May 21 and 22 when they will open their doors to their communities. The weekend is part of a year-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of The New York Landmarks Conservancy's Sacred Sites program. Here is a list of our beloved Upper West Side churches that are participating in this event:    

 

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church: 3 W. 65th Street   

Christ and St. Stephen's Church: 122 W. 69th Street, May 21st 12pm-2:30pm and May 22nd 12pm-2pm

St. Ignatius of Antioch: 552 West End Avenue, May 21st 12pm-5pm

Church of St. Paul and St. Andrew: 263 West 86th Street, May 22nd 1pm-3pm


Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation: 302 W. 91st Street  

 

Crenshaw Christian Center East: 1 W. 96th Street, May 21 and May 22 1pm-4pm

 

St. Michael's Episcopal Church: 225 W. 99th Street, May 21st 12pm-4pm
