From our colleagues at Preservation Alumni:

Twice a year, members of Preservation Alumni, the Columbia University Historic Preservation Masters Program's alumni association, lend a helping hand to special places in the NYC vicinity as part of volunteer work days.

For this year's Fall Work Day, volunteers will be rolling up their sleeves in service of a historic site in need on the Upper West Side. Now, the preservation community which rallied for its protection has the opportunity to demonstrate its sustaining commitment to West-Park Presbyterian Church.

        WHO: Members of Preservation Alumni, congregants of West-Park
                          Presbyterian Church, members of Friends of West-Park, and anyone
                          who wants to be a part of the Church's revitalization is welcome!

      WHEN:   Saturday, December 4th
                 10:00am-4:00pm
                 (whether it's one hour or six hours, any amount of time you can give
                           is greatly appreciated!)

    WHERE: West-Park Presbyterian Church
                          165 West 86th St @ Amsterdam Ave

       WHAT:  Pick up a rag, push a broom, wrangle a shop vac.
                           Help give the interior of this amazing structure a good cleaning.

Past Preservation Alumni work days have been held at Manitoga/The Russel Wright Design Center in Garrison, NY, and the giant Texaco map inside the New York Pavilion at Flushing Meadows-Corona Park, Queens.
