Beethoven: Symphony No. 3 "Eroica"
Dragonetti: Bass COncerto in D - modern premiere
John Feeney, Bass

Beethoven's Eroica is the master's most stirring work, from the famous theme, to the bone-chilling funeral march, to the finale's heroic trumpets. The Eroica performed on original instruments offers listeners the opportunity to hear the blazing brass and singing strings contextually. ACO bassist John Feeney plays the modern premiere of a thrilling concerto by Beethoven's legendary bassist Domenico Dragonetti, the "Paganini of the bass."
