Stretching north from West 72nd Street to the George Washington Bridge, Riverside Drive traces the sinuous border between the grid of the city and the naturalistic landscape of Riverside Park and features a succession of powerful monuments to servicemen, firefighters, and other historical heroes. Join LW! for a tour of some of the most important sculptural and architectural masterpieces in the heart of the West Side. Our guides will be Michele H. Bogart, professor of art history at Stony Brook University and author of The Politics of Urban Beauty: New York and Its Art Commission; and Jean Phifer, architect and author of Public Art New York.
