How To Submit Your Comments or Your Group's Resolution to TCEQ
1) See this page on the TCEQ website for instructions on how to submit your letter of opposition - You can submit by mail, fax or online;
2) The Docket Number is 2009-1586-RUL;
3) If submitting online, prepare your letter of opposition or group's resolution in Microsoft Word or similar and follow the instructions to submit the file. It will show 'Anderson County'.  (The requested rule change is for the entire state, so "A" counties are first. Just ignore this.)  Choose a Filing Title.
4) The TCEQ is expected to consider this on Nov. 18th, so do it now!
5) Here is a sample letter in Word format (received from Connie Ripley) - examples of resolutions are also on our site.
Travis County Joins Others in Opposing Plans To Discharge Into Lakes
 Travis County Commissioners Court Approves Resolution To TCEQ

On Tuesday, Oct. 27th, the Travis County Commissioners Court unanimously passed a resolution opposing the lifting of the current ban on discharging treated wastewater effluent into the Highland Lakes. (Copy of their resolution found HERE)

Similar resolutions had already been passed by Village of Volente, City of Lakeway, Lake Travis Chamber of Commerce, Volente Neighborhood Association, Lakeway MUD and WCID #17.

The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ) is expected to rule on the petition submitted by Leander and Granite Shoals on November 18th.

Protect Lake Travis Association urges area residents, businesses and business groups, and property owner and neighborhood associations to let their elected representatives and the TCEQ know they oppose the lifting of these important protections.
