WHY I LOVE AIRPORTS
By far, my most difficult architectural photography assignments are airports. You struggle with layers and layers of security, mixed lighting conditions, and tight scheduling itineraries. Airports are also constantly changing, constantly moving - automobile traffic, passenger movement, arriving and departing flights. Add to this mix their gigantic size and tightly restricted access. Airports can be logistically challenging.
But I love airports. I thrive on the logistical challenges they present. An airport is a fluidly changing environment - ebbing and flowing with thousands of travellers each day. It's a place where first and last impressions are created. A place where an architect can leave a lasting legacy. A place where I as a photographer, can immerse myself in things I love - light, design, movement, logistics, and the creation of legacy building images.
