Greetings,

Summer is still here and we hope you are enjoying it. Before you know it, we will all be complaining about the cold weather!  That's New England!  We will keep you updated on cold weather lock tips when that time comes.

In our last Key Communications,  we said we would update you on Dave's involvement in the security industry.  Read about the upcoming Yankee Security Convention.

This month we are featuring a simple security tip from the Ledyard Police Department...it certainly could save you a lot of trouble!   We also have a tip in conjunction to the summer weather...and your doors and locks.

You think you have troubles! Look what happened at the Summer Olympics in London...and how much this little loss cost! No gold medals for the local police!

In a recent conversation with an officer of the Ledyard Police Department, we learned a great security tip:

Don't leave your vehicle unlocked with the keys inside!

Makes sense, right?  Many vehicles are stolen or items inside are taken for use or to be sold.  Some of these vehicles are used and then abandoned.  Thieves know the typical places people might leave a key in the car.  Be smart and don't fall victim to this crime!

Are you sure that door is shut and locked??

During the summer months, doors and frames can swell due to heat and humidity.  Sometimes this causes a misalignment of the strike and the latch.  You may think your door is latched and secured, when in fact, it isn't !  if you have problems, adjustments can be made by you or by calling us at AA Lock & Key, Inc. at 860-464-8664.
