        Desks and File Cabinets...

We can help with many of your desk and file cabinet security problems, the most common of  which is lost keys or keys locked in the item.  Check to see if there are any numbers or letters on the face of the lock.  Many times we can generate a factory key from this code.  The brand of the furniture is helpful in narrowing down possibilities.

We can also assist in many repairs and adjustments.  If the furniture is a common brand, we can usually find replacement parts.  If your file cabinet does not have a locking mechanism built in, we can install external locking bars that fold out of the way on files up to 5 drawers tall.

Call us 860-464-8664 for assistance.

           Beware of Scammers!

As consumers, we all want to be aware of legitimate businesses and not get scammed.  There is a great flurry of activity in the locksmithing field in regard to scammers.  We will talk about this in detail next month.  A safe way to find a locksmith is to visit the Associated Locksmiths of America, aloa.org and search by location for a qualified company.  You can click the link and have a look...of course, we hope you will stay with us!

 History of AA Lock & Key...Chapter 2

Dave expanded his knowledge and ability by repairing locks on the side, starting in the early 1980's.  One day he got a call from an official at a Norwich bank who was having trouble with a lock.  Dave went on his lunch hour and did the repair.  This helped to spark further interest on Dave's part.  Dave also visited local lock shops to learn from others in the field.  One day in the spring of 1986, the owner of AA Lock & Key in Norwich--a locksmith Dave visited--called to say he was moving south and asked if Dave wanted to purchase his business.  After discussing it with Deb and a visit to an accountant, Dave and Deb decided it was worth a chance to give it a go.  Dave gave his resignation at Holdridge Farm Nursery as Hardware Manager and Buyer and started operating AA Lock & Key in June of 1986.  Being that it was at the end of the spring season at Holdridge's, the management there offered that if the business didn't work out, he was welcome back.  This was a great piece of security. As they valued his input, Dave was also asked to be part of the Board of Directors of Holdridge Farm Nursery, a position he still holds today.  We also participated at a Chamber of Commerce Exhibition with a booth.  See the photo above.  Chapter 3 to follow next month...come on back!
