Taking The "High Road" With Our Golf Cart

Our golf cart has been looking shabby of late.  We AGREED that it was TIME TO REPLACE the canvas cover and plastic roll-up sides that shield us from cold and/or rain when the weather isn't perfect.  Also, the seat cover is worn through in a couple of places, etc.

Replacing such optional equipment is no small undertaking in our remote rural location.  Many residents travel about six hours round-trip to a place in Missouri.  By purchasing there and having it shipped here, they "conveniently forget" to pay the Arkansas sales tax (definitely NOT the "high road" that we choose to travel).

Yesterday, our golf club held a pro-am event.  A handful of golf pros from around the area came to play, and each was assigned a team of three participating amateurs from our club.  Our assigned pro turned out to be a former pro, who changed careers about a year ago and went to work as Outside Sales Manager for the distributor that sells our brand of golf cart throughout Arkansas.

After a delightful afternoon of golf, my teammate and new "golf-pro" friend was happy to consult with me about exactly the equipment available to retrofit my 7-year old cart.  He is having the head of their parts department fill my order, and will arrange for the service manager to provide free delivery and installation of the equipment onto my cart during his next regular visit to our area of the state.  WOW!

Shine Your Own Light

In a world of relationships where we care about others and their opinions, we can sometimes get lost in those opinions, losing touch with our own guidance.

Everyone has been told at one point or another to "be your own person" or "ignore what others think" but this often isn't so easy in practice.  The inherent problem is that we do care about others and their opinions.

Unfortunately, Law of Attraction doesn't care what others think, it only responds to what we think.

A common occurrence in relationships is that, because we care so much about someone else's opinions, problems or desires, that we tend to attract those things into our own life as well.

This is great if that's what we want but it almost never is.

If we're attracting what they're focused on and they're attracting what we're focused on then neither person will be satisfied because neither is in alignment with their respective desires.

Then, we blame each other when we don't feel good! 

Not a fun way to live.  But what to do about it?

The answer is always the same: The best use of our focus is to put it on things that make us feel good and not on the opinions, problems or desires of others.

This may sound selfish at first but it actually ends up benefiting everyone as follows:

• We will begin to attract what matches our own desires and less of what doesn't.

• Because we're in better alignment with our own desires, we'll inherently be happier and thus more pleasant to be around for the other person.

• We will tend to dominate the energy field around us due to our alignment, sort of like focused light becomes a laser beam.  As a result, we will be more influential and naturally uplift those around us, potentially helping them toward their own alignment as well.

Just remember that Law of Attraction only responds to what we're thinking, not what the other person is thinking.  The only way another person's thoughts can affect how we feel and subsequently what we attract is if we begin thinking those same thoughts.  We really do have total control of our experience of life.

If we can maintain focus on what we want while allowing others to be who they are, we can create some amazing relationships in in our lives!
