Revisiting The Fundamentals, part 2
The Emotional Guidance System
Last time, we reviewed the basics of Law of Attraction. In this newsletter, we're going to review our built-in, Emotional Guidance System* (EGS), which tells whether we're moving toward or away from what we've been asking for.
Most everyone knows what a GPS, or "Global Positioning System", is. It helps guide us on any journey we program it for. It warns us when we've made a wrong turn and it keeps us pointed in the right direction until we reach our chosen destination.
Our EGS also keeps us going in the right direction, however, instead of taking us to a physical destination, it takes us towards our desires. It is a simple process that involves acknowledging and paying attention to our feelings and then adjusting our thoughts so that the feelings continuously improve.
Because Law of Attraction is always attracting the essence of our thoughts to us, improving our thoughts will improve our attractions and subsequently, our manifestations.
Here are some important points to consider:
- Feelings are always the result of thoughts, never the other way around. Therefore, when we don't feel good, it's always a result of recent negative thoughts.
- We have the freedom to choose our thoughts, therefore, we can always change how we think about any situation, regardless of the "reality" of the situation.
- The speed at which a desire will manifest into our reality is simply a matter of two things:
- How much time we spend thinking about it while we're near the top of the Emotional Scale.
- How little time we spend thinking about how or when it will manifest.
- The better we feel, the more in resonance we are with our desires. Like two guitar strings, the closer they are tuned together, the louder they are (and the better they sound!)
As a guide, we can refer to the following Emotional Scale to identify what we're currently feeling on any given subject:
1. Joy / Knowledge / Empowerment / Freedom / Love / Appreciation
2. Passion
3. Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4. Positive Expectation/Belief
5. Optimism
6. Hopefulness
7. Contentment
8. Boredom
9. Pessimism
10. Frustration / Irritation / Impatience
11. "Overwhelment"
12. Disappointment
13. Doubt
14. Worry
15. Blame
16. Discouragement
17. Anger
18. Revenge
19. Hatred/Rage
20. Jealously
21. Insecurity / Guilt / Unworthiness
22. Fear / Grief / Depression / Despair / Powerlessness
Once we've identified where we are on the Scale, all that's left is to reach for thoughts that are higher up on the Scale on the desired subject. There are numerous processes available to help do this so if one doesn't work, try another!
We will cover some of these processes in future newsletters. We also teach these in greater detail in our workshops.
One final tip, don't try to jump more than a few notches up the scale as you will most likely just fall back. This is because Law of Attraction tends to hold us where we are thinking by attracting matching thoughts.
If you just reach for a slightly better feeling thought that gives you some relief then you'll be moving in the right direction.
