"Early Detection ....Priceless" Is a provocative
collection of works integrating a unique "breast applied" application of acrylic
paints onto a canvas of rich colors and whimsical concepts.
Each canvas expresses the story of a woman's inner
strength, unyielding spirit and, at times, her confrontation with the diagnoses

detection.

Photo of Macie by Begleiter.com
October truly was a diverse month for work. It started with my annual class photo (literally) of my son's school, Missoula Valley Montessori. Believe me it not easy to capture 23 happy children at once.
It prepared me for my next shoot, a group of 250 sorority women celebrating their 100 years. Go Thetas!!! We ended up splitting the group in two photos and through the wonders of Photo Shop made it look like one group.
Then, things got back to normal, sort of, with a commercial shoot for 3 Rivers Communication. I was hired by Steve Robertson owner of Full Moon Concepts LLC to shoot two billboard Ads. You can read more about the shoot on my blog.
Just to bring me back to earth, after a high profile shoot, I photographed another school of beautiful children, Garden City Montessori and closing off the month with the Jefferson School In between all this there were some retail portraits...more on the blog.
The image above,of Macie, is an outtake from the family that won the drawing from The Children's Museum. In January I will launch my new ad campaign:
" Every child is unique so why should their portraits look the same ?"
My images fromEvery Women Matters continues to find new homes and will be display at the history museum in Great Falls. Photo Techniques magazine Nov/Dec issue is featuring my article on "Web Sites for Photographers.

Dear Readers,
As
my second year begins, as owner of Begleiter.com I have learned:
1) Stay positive, as the
great jazz standard states " What a difference a day makes."
2) It is not "luck" that presents the opportunity
for me to "make a living at what I love" it is calculated risk.
3) Heartfelt support from my
family and friends lightens the load.
The photo gracing the top of this newsletter, Dakota, is an outtake from an Ad Campaign I worked on in October and wanted to share a quote from the Client, Steve Robertson of Full Moon Concepts LLC,
" I especially wish to
thank everyone for hustling and giving 100% professionalism to contribute to
the project. Steven Begleiter is our hero as well for shooting the
outdoor/print instantly and beautifully."
November begins my adventures into Micro Stock Photography. I will be archiving my current and past work onto PhotoShelter for sale to the public. I will also begin licensing my work to commercial clients. My goal is to have a robust site by March of 2010 and compete with Getty ( just kiddin' ) Take a peak.
I want to thank all my current customers and friends for their support and I look forward to challenges of the coming year.
Sincerely, Steven

November Photo Tips:
Brrrr..if you live anywhere near my studio prepare for a cold winter, according to Farmers Almanac.
1) Batteries: Cold weather can shorten battery life so remember to have a spare and keep it warm. In fact try to keep your camera warm by keeping it in your coat. Wear a hat!
2) Best Gloves: I just purchased a pair of fingerless fishing mittens ($40) from my neighbor the Grizzly Hackle made by Simms to prepare myself for outdoor winter shoots. Best buy in a long time, keeps my hands warm but I can remove the fingers and thumb covers to grip and fire the camera.
3) Post Production software: Adobe Lightroom is my pick. It is an intuitive program to help you organize, globally alter your images, create web galleries. Sorry Aperture, you know what I am talking about.
