Learn for the Fun of It with Noncredit Workshops at SWIC
This fall you can find out the importance of your credit score; learn how to speak conversational German; or attend a six-step cancer program, all through personal enrichment workshops at Southwestern Illinois College, 2500 Carlyle Ave., Belleville.
SWIC is offering a variety of noncredit courses in October, ranging from Computer Skills to Health and Wellness. Some courses offered are designed just for children. Each noncredit course will meet on Saturday, unless otherwise specified. Tuition and supply costs vary depending on the class. Tuition must be paid before the first day of class; however, materials fees should be paid to the instructor at class.

Brass Rail Players Announce Cast for Agatha Christie's "And Then There Were None"
The Brass Rail Players is pleased to announce the cast of "And Then There Were None," the stage adaptation of Agatha Christie's best-selling mystery novel of all-time, "Ten Little Indians."
Guests are invited to the remote Soldier Island, off the coast of England. Soon, murders paralleling the grim old nursery rhyme occur. The compelling characters include Hank Crider of Highland as Judge Lawrence Wargrave, Davey Bobzin of Mascoutah, who will portray the dashing adventurer Philip Lombard, who is taken with secretary Vera Claythorne, to be played by Kristy Weber of Waterloo. Bryce Beliveau of Freeburg will play the rich, spoiled Anthony Marston, while Lindell Webb of Columbia plays the loud William Blore. Gabi Maul of Belleville will portray the suspicious spinster Emily Brent and Casey McGowan of St. Louis is the fussy Dr. Armstrong. Warren Frank of Red Bud will play General Mackenzie and Tim McWhirter of Belleville is fisherman Narracott. Pat Webb of Columbia and Darrell Duensing of Prairie du Rocher will play the housekeeping couple, Mr. and Mrs. Rogers.
The whodunit, which features edge-of-your-seat suspense, will be performed four times, Oct. 18-21, at Governor French Academy, 219 W. Main St., Belleville. Showtimes are at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Friday and Saturday, and at 2 p.m. Sunday. Warren Frank, who directed BRP's spring comedy "Rumors," is back at the helm.

Ellen Moran, PhD, to Speak at Victorious Missionaries' National Conference
The Victorious Missionaries, a group that offers spiritual support for people with disabilities, will hold their National Conference at the National Shrine of Our Lady of the Snows Visitors and Conference Center, in Belleville, Ill. The weekend begins with dinner at 6 p.m. on Friday, October 19, and ends with lunch on Sunday, October 21, 2012. The keynote speaker, Ellen Moran, PhD, is a psychologist, speaker and leadership coach. Ellen will talk about A Channel of Your Peace: Faith-Based Leadership Skills. This conference will help you learn how to improve your communication skills by understanding the motivations behind everyday conversations. Learn ways to create conversations that unite rather than divide and build bridges not barriers. Cost for the weekend is $150, which includes six meals, two nights lodging, snacks and handouts. If you choose to commute, the cost is $115. The cost for both Saturday and Sunday is $90; for Saturday only $65 (includes lunch & dinner). Pre-registration is required.
