Greetings!

The BBC Politics Show filmed Daniel Hannan MEP during the joint Freedom Association & Conservative Future free spirits bash at the D'Fly Bar in Cheltenham on 25 April.

Click here to watch the BBC feature on Daniel.

NB: the feature on Daniel starts 50 minutes in to the programme.

If you were present at the free spirits bash in Cheltenham, which Daniel described on his blog as "a hugely enjoyable drinks party", you'll know that both he and Roger Helmer MEP gave superb speeches.  If not, don't worry - you can watch both speeches, together with dozens of other exclusive videos, on The Freedom Association YouTube channel.

You can also see more than thirty photographs of the event on The Freedom Association Flickr channel.

The Freedom Association was delighted to join forces with Conservative Future on this occasion.  CF, under Michael Rock's leadership, has been doing great work on freedom issues and I was pleased to join Michael and other CF members petitioning against identity cards, in Cheltenham High Street, with Mark Coote, the excellent Tory PPC for Cheltenham.

The Freedom Association is a cross-party organisation and, as a result, is free to take on issues without fear or favour - as it has done with its BETTER OFF OUT campaign, to which both Daniel Hannan (a TFA Council Member) and Roger Helmer (our Hon. Chairman), were founder signatories.  Nigel Farage MEP is the guest speaker at our next event, in London, on 13 May.

Murdo Fraser MSP, Deputy Leader of the Scottish Conservatives, will be the guest speaker at the next free spirits event - on the Scottish Conservative Party Conference Fringe in Perth on Thursday 14 May - at which we will celebrate the thirtieth anniversary of Margaret Thatcher's historic 1979 General Election victory.  I do hope you will be able to join me there.

You are also very welcome to come and hear the brilliant Daniel Hannan again, at a joint TFA and Oxford University Conservative Association free spirits bash in the Gladstone Room of the Oxford Union on 29 May.

The Freedom Association is one of the most dynamic organisations on the British political scene.  By joining our Facebook group, you can find details of future events (lots of them!), including our widely acclaimed Freedom Zone - the biggest and best event on the Conservative Party Conference Fringe.  If you care about your freedom, do join TFA.  You can find full details here.

Finally, I'd like to thank the Gloucestershire Branch of The Freedom Association for generously covering the cost of our free spirits bash in Cheltenham.  I hope you will be able to attend the branch's next event, at the magnificent Stanway House, on 18 July.

I very much look forward to seeing you at one or more of our events over the next few months.

Kind regards,

Simon Richards
