RECIPE OF THE MONTH: COCONUT BUNNY CAKE
Bunny Cakes
Cut an 8-inch cake layer in half. Sandwich the layers
with frosting and then position the cake on its flat edge to frost the
body.
- Cut a notch into the cake behind the "head" to
help define the body.
- Decorate with shredded coconut for the
fur.
- Use toasted coconut for a brown bunny.
- To make
ears, flatten a large marshmallow and use scissors to cut it in half
diagonally.
- Cut another marshmallow in half and press the rounds
into the frosting to create cheeks.
- Miniature marshmallows make
cute little bunny teeth. Jelly beans make great eyes and noses.

DAYS OF MY YOUTH - MYRON KASHIMA
EASTER EGGS.... PIGS AND CHICKENS?
Every year, we looked forward to an Easter celebration that was put on by the union for the Plantation families. Of course there was the traditional Easter egg hunt for all the little kids. The older kids would chase chickens and greased pigs. If you caught one, you would win a prize! As hard as I tried, I NEVER caught one!
Aloha, Myron

PIDGIN CORNER - LEARN SOME LOCAL "SLANG"
Shaka (Shaa kah) Definition: Cool, right on, hang loose Hawaiian locals use the shaka to convey what locals in Hawai'i call the "Aloha
Spirit," a gesture of friendship. Depending on context it can also
be used to communicate notions such as "all right," "cool,".
