As I See It...

Over the past few years I have done many seminars in regards to the POS system which many of you use. I really enjoy sharing what I have learned with the POS system with all our members, and I hope everyone has been able to take away at least one thing new to use when they get back to their stores.

If you want to learn more about how your POS system can save you money and hopefully that will equate to a higher net profit at the end of the year, you should plan on attending the MMBA Annual Conference at Arrowwood Resort in Alexandria from May 20th to May 22nd.

*Do you need to learn how to do cycle counts? Do you still have to do a total store end of the year inventory?

*How do I get rid of old product? What report can I run to help me figure out which items need to stay or go.

*My city council needs our liquor operation to make more money, how can I use the POS system to help me archive that goal.

*How do I check to see if I need to change my open and closing times?

*Am I making a high enough gross profit and is there a report that I can run to let me know.

*What is an acceptable amount of inventory to have on hand compared to my yearly sales?

These are just a few of the questions we are asked at regional meetings, boot camp, annual conference or from a phone call.

Remember, we are here to help. You just need to take that first step and ask. As an association, it is our goal to have every member succeed.

We hope to see many of you at the MMBA Annual Conference in May. It's a great way to network and a great way to get your questions answered. Registration information will be available shortly.

March Madness Promotion
March Madness
Your humble editor says it year after year...

The Sid's and Big Top Liquor's March Madness promotion is one of the most creative ideas ever.

A Man Drinks a Bottle of Tequila Every Day...
Worm
A man drinks a bottle of tequila every day.

After years of putting
up with his drunken behavior, his wife wants him to quit.  So she follows him to the bar and sits down next to him.

She asks the bartender for a bottle of tequila, then holds it up to his face.

"I want you to see this.  You see that worm floating on the bottom?  It's dead.  Now what does that tell you?"

"I think I got it!  If I drink tequila, I won't get worms!"

The only thing standing between you and your goal is the ridiculous story you keep telling yourself as to why you can't achieve it.
