As I See It...

No

We have all heard someone say "Leave your work at work, and home at home".

This is usually a no brainer for me, at least leaving home at home.  Recently though I have been having trouble leaving one home habit at home. Being a wife, mother, caretaker, housekeeper, handyman, you get the picture, I seem to have trouble saying "No!"

Being able to say "No" to a dozen or more salesman who all have great products is sometimes very hard to do.  We all want to carry the new trendy items and quality products as well.  However, not saying "No," especially with the economy right now, can get us in trouble.

This is a time to concentrate on good sellers, and adequate variety of all products.

Again, if it does not sell, get rid of it. Better to double face a "good seller" than to take up space on a "no seller."

I think it was Gary Buysee who once said, "You don't have to bring in every new product." If you wait a month or two you can find out how it's selling at other stores first.

Often, MMBA tells us all when there is something new that is working out for others, then you can give it a try.

Just remember it's OK to say "No" sometimes.

On the other hand, if you're one of the many afraid of change, now may be the time for you to say "Yes" once in awhile.

Building Barrels in Minnesota that make Good Whiskey

(and Soon Wine & Beer)

Whiskey Barrels

Building wooden barrels is a craft. Building barrels that make good whiskey is an art.

Attention Retail Outlets Making & Selling Bags of Ice

Ice

If your establishment makes and sells bags of ice to the public, certain information must be indicated on the bag.

According to the Minnesota Department of Agriculture, Dairy and Food Inspection Division:

* The bags need to be labeled on the front with the common name of the contents (i.e., "ICE").

* Somewhere along the bottom, the net weight must be listed

(i.e., "5 lbs.")

* The  name and address of either the manufacturer, or if more appropriate, the packer or distributor.

In the case of an outbreak, (they have occurred with ice) the Department needs to be able to conduct a trace-back.

A Drunk Phoned the Local Police....
Drunk Guy

A drunk phoned the local police department to report that thieves had been in his car.

"They stole the dashboard, the steering wheel, the brake pedal, even the accelerator," he cried out.

However, before the police investigation could start, the phone rang a second time, and the same voice came over the line.

"Never mind," the drunk said with a hiccup.  "I got in the back seat by mistake."
