HealthInsight is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the 2011 Physician Office Quality Award.

The HealthInsight Physician Office Quality Award aims to promote excellence in health care. By using available quality data to identify gaps in care, high performing physician office practices will improve the quality of health care they provide.
  
 The 2011 Physician Office HealthInsight Quality Award will be presented to physician office practices that meet the following criteria:

1. Adoption of health information technology,
2. Regular use of population care management methods,
3. Participation in a data reporting quality initiative; and
4. Exemplary performance on nationally-recognized clinical outcome measures.

Physician office practices must submit their applications by September 15, 2011 to be considered for the award. Awards are scheduled to be presented in late 2011.

Las Vegas Area Clinic Attests to Meaningful Use

 

In August, the HealthInsight Regional Extension Center had the privilege of honoring the third clinic in the Nevada/Utah region to attest to Meaningful Use, Physicians Medical Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.  In recognition for championing the creation of an electronically-enabled health care system for better patient care, eligible providers at the clinic have been deemed Meaningful Use Vanguards or MUVers.  The Office of the National Coordinator (ONC) endorses the MUVer program.

 

Eleven of the 14 Physicians Medical Center providers have successfully attested to Meaningful Use.  On May 19, 2011, Dr. Beatriz Ang-Ermocilla was the first in the group to attest. HealthInsight celebrated with Physicians Medical Center in three ceremonies, one at each site, over two days.  HealthInsight celebrated these accomplishments by presenting each physician with a plaque and a certificate from the ONC.  Nate Chiovaro of Allscripts (Physicians Medical Center's EMR vendor) was also in attendance.

 

We would like to congratulate all of the physicians, and their staff members, in this great accomplishment. Thank you for your hard work and dedication to improving the quality of healthcare!

 

Concierge Care Physicians have been working with HealthInsight's Regional Extension Center team since August 2010. The practice is led by Dr. Neibaur and Dr. Schofield. According to Dr. Neibaur, "The e-prescribing has proven indispensable in avoiding medication errors". Lori Smallen, practice Office Manager, stated they began their journey back in 2008 and haven't looked back! According to her, "To restructure an entire workflow requires total cooperation from everyone, from the top on down. We are very lucky to have that support."

 

Lori successfully navigated the attestation process for both of her Dr's and completed the entire process within two hours! She was ecstatic and had every right to be. Through the diligent efforts of her entire staff, the tireless support of her physicians, and assistance from the HealthInsight's Regional Extension Center, she was able to tie it all together and attest that Concierge Care Physicians are now using their certified EHR (eMDs) in a most "meaningful" manner!

 

Congratulations to Concierge Care Physicians on this fantastic accomplishment!
