Wednesday Night Supper Reservations |
|
Join us Wednesday, December 7th in the Fellowship Hall for fall supper. Dinner begins at 6:00PM. The cost is $6.00 for adults and $4.00 for children 8 & under. Take-out orders are now offered. Pay at the door.

Servant Leadership Training Event |
|
 Our first annual Servant Leadership Training Event will be held on January 7, 2012 from 9:00 - 11:30AM in our Fellowship Hall. This event is for all persons who will be serving in leadership for 2012. The event is for all members of the Church Council, all members of various committees like the Trustees, Finance Committee, Staff Parish Relations Committee, Older Adult Council, Education Committee, Missions Committee, etc. We will have a general gathering that includes inspiration, vision casting and focus on servant leadership. Then, we will have a breakout time for all committees to meet, orient new members and organize themselves for ministry in 2012. |

Our Children's Choirs will be singing at Wednesday Night Suppers during December. The Joyful Noise Choir (age 4 through Kindergarten) will share music on December 7th, and the Kids of the Kingdom (grades 1 through 5) will sing on December 14th. Dinner reservations required!
All children in grades 1-5 who study an instrument privately are invited to play in the Nativity Pageant Sunday evening, December 18th. Those interested should call Nancy Vogelsang at 912-351-9223 by Monday, December 12th. Youth in grades 6-12 who study privately are invited to play in worship Saturday evening, December 24th. Those interested should contact Nancy by Thursday, December 15th. |

 Many thanks to the following people who prepared and served breakfast on Thanksgiving morning to the residents of Grace House at Union Mission. Lynn and Bill Hagan, Marjo Zelinsky, Penny Mills, Jane Quattlebaum, Will Arnold and Cassady Williamson.
For those who worked tirelessly creating beautiful angels to benefit The Christ Child's Nest Nancy Hartmann, Ann Grotheer, Joan Broerman, Bobbie Norris, Elinor Coker, Betty Holck, Ulla Michels and Dean Hines.
And for those of you who purchased angels to support the little angels in Guatemala. Over $2800 was raised!
And, for everyone who helped pack boxes for Operation Christmas Child and purchased items at the Christmas Gift Market. Your gifts will give to others in need around the world.

As part of our Christmas Focus this year, we will offer several opportunities for you to assist families in need. Once again, we will support Wesley Community Centers by providing gift cards for children enrolled in their Child Development Center. We will also assist our sister Hispanic church, New Beginnings UMC, buy purchasing gifts for the children. Or you can make a donation to Heifer International to purchase a gift of livestock for families living in poverty around the world. If you are interested in supporting one of these ministries, please visit the table in hallway on Sundays, December 4th and 11th. |

 Christmas and Lunch with Kevin and Nancy Vogelsang! Get ready for Christmas with a program by our own Nancy and Kevin Vogelsang who will share their musical talents with us. A love offering for "Arts from the Island" mission program will be collected.

Friends 'n Needles Prayer Shawl Group |

 Shop Locally at a Small Business Finish up your Christmas shopping at the church on December 6th and 8th from 11:00-2:00PM. The Friends 'n Needles Prayer Shawl Group will be selling their handmade items for women and children. All proceeds go to children's missions and disaster emergencies.
Save Boxtops for Education
Remember to save them when you are doing your Christmas baking. They come on Betty Crocker and Pillsbury products, Gold Medal Flour, Land O Lakes Butter and Bisquick. We are saving them so Isle of Hope Elementary School can purchase computers with the money earned. Please put them in the container outside the church office. |

 The Sisters in Christ Circle will meet Monday, December 12th from 9:00 - 10:30AM in the Bridal Parlor. Please join us for fellowship, devotion time and an inspirational message from Kathy Burnsed, "Untangling the Tinsel".
