Dear ,
The Green House Project We Are Almost There!
When Cindy and I visited Isle of Hope UMC in May of this year, we were taken in by the natural beauty of this Church's setting. The grounds and facilities are part and parcel of the wonderful uniqueness of this amazing congregation. After touring the main facilities we were introduced to The Green House. Since that initial introduction, I have come to realize just how special The Green House is to the ongoing life and ministry of this great Church. Week after week it is filled with children, youth and adults studying, praying and learning together.
As I researched how The Green House Project came into being, I was even more amazed. The vision and plan for this vital ministry center grew out of the obvious need to create space where the Church could expand its reach and increase its influence to even more children, youth and adults. Even though the projected cost of the Green House Project may have seemed a little ambitious at the time, the incredible response of God's people to the challenge was nothing short of astounding. When I heard that the total cost for The Green House Project was underwritten by pledges from faithful members of this congregation, I was completely blown away.
The Pledge Campaign for the Green House Project is but another testimony of this congregation's long and faithful commitment to the legacy of ministry excellence. As we near the end of 2010, we are fast approaching the finish line for our Green House Pledge Campaign. We are almost there. We only lack $345,419, of the total amount that was pledged. Considering the fact that the total pledged was $1,786,646, we are well within reach of completing our pledged goal by the end of 2010.
My hope and prayer is that we can finish out our pledge campaign by December 31 and then begin planning a Green House Dedication Service early in 2011. At that service it will be a cause for great celebration as we burn the note on this wonderful facility. With your help we can see this dream come to pass. Let's all work toward this end so that we can fully celebrate the miracle that is The Green House of Isle of Hope United Methodist Church!
Sharing the Dream,
Mike

1. Choose a stocking from our Christmas tree and "adopt" a child through Wesley Community Centers by making a donation of $25 to Wesley. The money will be used to purchase a gift card for the child's parent to purchase a gift for the child. Make checks payable to Wesley Community Centers and note "Christmas focus."
2. Choose an angelfrom the Christmas tree and purchase a gift for a child at New Beginnings UMC, our United Methodist Hispanic community at Silk Hope UMC. Purchase a gift for $10 or less, wrap and return it to the church by Monday, December 13th.
3. Make a donation to Heifer International to purchase a gift of livestock in honor or memory of a loved one. Make checks payable to IOHUMC and note "Heifer". Gift cards will be provided.

Please make checks out to: IOHUMC with Prayer/Wesley in the memo. You can also pick up a scarf at the church office any time.
