Recycling at Isle of Hope UMC
Isle of Hope UMC is going green! We have started recycling within the church. We are collecting all of our office paper, aluminum cans and plastic bottles that we had been discarding in the trash. Goodwill will pick up the recyclables at no cost to the church, and they will receive funds for the materials to benefit their programs. The recycling bins for cans and bottles in the church hallways were paid for through donations from church members. We hope to grow until we are recycling all recyclable materials that we use. Many thanks to Marla Grady and Molly Sims for their vision and assistance in getting this started. If you are not recycling at home, we hope you will consider doing so.
Genesis 1:26 "God said, "Let us make man in our image, and let them rule over the fish of the sea, and the birds of the air, over the livestock, over the earth, and over all creatures that move along the ground." Let's be good stewards of all the God has given us.

The Men's Chorus begins another series of rehearsals on Wednesday, October 6, at 8PM. Subsequent rehearsals will be on Sundays at 7PM. We plan to sing in worship on October 31, All Saints Sunday. This is a great way to enjoy the inspiring music and great fellowship of a choir with only a short-term commitment. ALL men are welcome and encouraged to join us!

For Youth & College
We have an upcoming event for our high schoolers that I want everyone to be involved in! On Nov. 5th-6th, our youth will be taking part in an event entitled "Insomnia." The goal of this event is for our students to give up the opportunity of a good nights rest so that they can understand and appreciate all that God has blessed them with. We will also be raising money to provide beds for orphans in Uganda. Each student has been asked to raise $50. This event is for high school, but I would love if our whole church could come together and give towards this cause. And here's the best part - you do not have to give a large amount. You can contribute $1, $5, $10; however much you felt God calling you to give. Donations will be able to be given from now until Nov. 5th, so let's come together and give for a good cause!
