Dear , GOD BE WITH YOU UNTIL WE MEET AGAIN! When we came to IOHUMC in 2003, we knew that the day would come when we would leave. It's part of the United Methodist Ministry to move from one assignment to another. Usually, the Bishop and Cabinet make the decision concerning when and where that move occurs. This time it is our decision! The decision to retire was not an easy one. We love the ministry, especially the ministry at Isle of Hope UMC. The time is right and we look forward to what retirement holds for us. In order to get to retirement though, we must no longer be your parsonage family. That's what makes it difficult! Where do we find adequate words to express to the staff and congregation of this great church, and to the Savannah and Isle of Hope community, all that you have meant and will continue to mean to us across the years ahead? The truth is, we do not have adequate words. "Thank You" seems so inadequate, but it comes from the bottom of our hearts. Thank you for receiving us into your church and community seven years ago and treating us as if we were members of your family. Thank you for your positive attitude and multiple ministry and outreach programs that have benefited so many. Thank you for your ministry to us, personally, as we have endeavored to be in ministry with you. We leave Isle of Hope and Savannah with wonderful memories that will stay with us for the remainder of our lives. While we will be across the state at 6593 Patriot Drive, Columbus, GA 31909, our prayers and thoughts will often be with you here on Isle of Hope. We have experienced seven wonderful years of loving you and being loved by you. We will miss you, but the relationship we have made with you will not be over simply because we are apart from one another. You will love your new pastors, just as you have loved us, and the work of Christ will continue in a wonderful way here. Our prayers will be with you, as we trust that you will pray for us. We don't really want to say "goodbye", so we will simply say "God be with you until we meet again." We Love You, June and Dick |

A big thanks to all of you folks who brought the great food for our reception for Dick and June and Frank and Beth. We had quite a feast! A special thanks to Matra Jordan for the beautiful flower arrangement and to Marjo Zelinsky for typing the programs. We have been so blessed by these two families and their ministry at Isle of Hope and I thank you, our church family, for helping to celebrate their time with us. Joan Broerman and SPR |

Missions & Outreach
BABY BOUTIQUE When you need a gift for a newborn, remember to shop anytime at the Friends 'n Needles Prayer Shawl Group's Baby Boutique for lovely handmade blankets, sweaters, hats, etc. Check in at the church office, make your choice and stop back at the office to pay. New items are added monthly. Thank you for helping us support children's missions. A large selection of scarves and purses is also available for your shopping pleasure! Nancy Hartmann Haiti Mission Trip I would like to thank everyone who helped make our trip to Haiti possible. Your generosity at the Loc's fundraiser was incredible. Thanks also to the many individuals who gave donations to assist the mission team and OFCB with their ministry in Haiti. The mission team is grateful for your prayers-they were felt! We had a great trip. We taught English, recorded the OFCB Choir (to make a CD as a potential fundraiser) and painted a newly plastered classroom. But most importantly, we shared the love of Jesus with our brothers and sisters in Christ-and they shared with us-abundantly! They opened their arms, their hearts and their homes to us. Actionnel Fleurisma, the Pastor and one of the Directors of OFCB Ministries asked me to express his thanks to each of you for your prayers and financial support. The earthquake and depressed economy have had a terrible impact on the people of Bayonnais. The Haiti Mission Team is praying for God's guidance as we discern the most effective ways to offer continued support. We covet your prayers in this endeavor. I would like to thank Bill Simmons for his leadership on the trip, Rev Wayne Racz as our spiritual director and an awesome team who gave their all to the people of Bayonnais.
