Dear ,
Ministry Improvement Team 2010 As many of you know at the direction of the Staff Parrish Committee a Ministry Improvement Team (MIT) was formed in April 2009. The task of this team was to look at existing ministries and systems, identify areas of strength and weakness, and then present a plan back to Staff Parish. As a result of the work of MIT and along with input from the Church Council, a New Church Council structure was implemented in 2010 to integrate the work of MIT. As we move forward, there are 4 big areas of work that the Church Council has adopted; 1. Delivering Ministry Excellence 2. Strengthening Operational Support 3. Connecting the Isle of Hope family 4. Improving Staffing & Lay development Here is an update on the work so for; · A new Church calendaring system has been put in place. · New job descriptions & evaluations are being implemented. · A new Mission & Vision statement along with a new Church logo has been approved. · A Connection Point Information Center for visitors & members has been put in place. This center will staffed by volunteers. These are just a few of the projects the Church Council along with MIT has been working on in the last year. The Church is grateful to Jim Smith (MIT Chair), Bill Daniel (Staff Parrish Chair) and Debra Brook (Church Council Chair) for their leadership as we continually seek to be the Church God has called us to be! Serving with you, Meg |
