Dear ,

"The Journey of a thousand miles begins with one step."         Lao-Tsze

A journey with God can also be an adventure. The story of faith says that Abram believed God's promises and set out, not knowing where he was going, but confident that he was going with God.

Our faith story reminds us that we do not journey by ourselves. People who follow God do so in company with others. Israel and the church both call themselves the people of God. We are on the journey of faith together.

Confirmation is a journey we take together as well. It is exciting, demanding, and challenging. It is a key to our becoming disciples of Jesus Christ. It is a journey that does not end: We will always be growing in our faith, in our relationship to one another and the church.

The 2010 Confirmation class has been in "BOOTCAMP" for the last six weeks. Our theme verse has been Galatians 5: 13-14 "For you have been called to live in freedom. But don't use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead use your freedom to serve one another in love. For the whole law can be summed up in this one command! "Love your neighbor as yourself."

Each confirmand has had a special friend - a mentor to navigate this confirmation experience. How grateful we are for those who journey with us.

Thirty-eight 6th graders will become full members of the church on Sunday March 7th. Please be in prayer for this service and for these youth as they claim the name Christian!
