Dear ,

                                         HANDY LITTLE CHART

                                        God has a positive answer:

YOU SAY                                   GOD SAYS                     BIBLE VERSES

You say "It's impossible"         God says: "All things are    Luke 18:27

                                                            possible"

You say "I'm too tired"            God says "I will give you   Matt. 11:28-30

                                                            rest"

You say "Nobody really           God says "I love you"        John 3:16 & John 3:34

             loves me"

You say "I can't go on"            God says "My grace is       II Cor. 12:9 &

                                                            sufficient"          Psalms 91:15

You say "I can't figure              God says "I will direct      Proverbs 3:5-6

             things out"                                 your steps"

You say "I can't do it"              God says "You can do       Philippians 4:13

                                                             all things"

You say "I'm not able"             God says "I am able"         II Cor. 9:8

You say "It's not worth it"       God says "It will be           Romans 8:28

                                                            worth it"

 You say "I can't forgive            God says "I forgive you"  I John 1:9 &

              myself"                                                             Romans 8:1

You say "I can't manage"         God says "I will supply    Philippians 4:19

                                                            all your needs"

You say "I'm afraid"                 God says "I have not        II Tim. 1:7

given you a spirit of fear"

You say "I'm always                God says "Cast all your    I Peter 5:7

worried and frustrated"              cares on ME"

You say "I'm not smart            God says "I give you         I Cor. 1:30

                enough"                                wisdom"

You say "I feel all alone"         God says "I will never       Hebrews 13:5

                                                           leave or forsake you"

In these troubling days, isn't it better to focus on God's wisdom than our own?

Keep this chart handy. It will be for you a source of strength in days to come.

                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                            Dick Reese

Souper Bowl Sunday

Sunday, February 7th is Souper Bowl Sunday. The communion offering will go to support America's Second Harvest Food Bank. You are also welcome to bring non-perishable food items and place them in the soup pots in the church doorways.

Thank you!

Many, many thanks for your generosity during such difficult times. You gave over $550 to the children in Guatemala on "Casual for The Christ Child's Nest" Sunday. We will visit The Nest while we are in Guatemala and will bring you the latest news. You have also given over  $13,762 to UMCOR and $2,352 to OFCB Ministries to assist the people of Haiti. Your generosity (along with several churches in the Charlotte, N.C. area) helped to purchase 2 used school buses, stock them with thousands of pounds of food and personal hygiene items and ship them to Bayonnais, Haiti- all in 2 weeks time! Check out the story at www.ofcbministries.org. You also prepared 100 health kits to be sent to Haiti by UMCOR. To God be the glory!
