Dear , ENOUGH: DISCOVERING JOY THROUGH SIMPLICITY AND GENEROSITY On Sunday, October 11, we will begin a church wide study and worship emphasis called "Enough: Discovering Joy Through Simplicity and Generosity." This material is written by Rev. Adam Hamilton, pastor of the United Methodist Church of the Resurrection in Leawood, Kansas. Many of our Sunday School classes have studied other series written by Hamilton and have greatly benefited from them. This series will be another wonderful learning experience. Over a period of five weeks, carrying us through Consecration Sunday on November 8, we will look at some of the financial challenges facing us as a nation and as individuals. We will have an opportunity to examine our own spending habits. Biblical principles will be presented which will help us understand God's plan for His people, and enable us to assess our own financial situations, as well as developing financial directions which will allow us to experience joy through living simply and generously. Our adult Sunday School classes will be given an opportunity to study this material. I will be offering a class on Wednesday evenings, October 7, 14, 21, 28, and November 4 based on this same material. This class will be open to anyone. I would especially welcome anyone who is not presently attending an adult Sunday School class, teachers of children and Youth classes, and any leaders of Adult classes who want to get a head start on their next Sunday's lesson. On Saturday October 24, we will gather in the Fellowship Hall of our church for a Pancake Breakfast and a kick-off for MAKE A DIFFERENCE DAY. Nearer that date, you will receive more information. What a wonderful way to celebrate living simply and generously by reaching out to help others all across our Savannah community! On the five Sundays, October 11, 18, 25, November 1 & 8, our pastors will be bringing messages around this same theme in the 8:45 and 11:15 AM Sanctuary services and the 11:15 Anchor Worship Service. At the end of the emphasis, on November 8, Consecration Sunday, we will have an opportunity to make personal commitments through our Estimate of Giving Cards, during our times of worship. I hope you will make a commitment to be present each of these five Sundays, the midweek study, and on Make a Difference Day , in order to allow God to work through His people here at Isle of Hope United Methodist Church. I believe it is God's desire to SHAPE us to live SIMPLY AND GENEROUSLY! Dick Reese |

We welcome additional gifts (contributions, memorials, honorariums, brick pavers, etc) and new or increased pledges. ENGRAVED BRICKS-The engraved bricks in the entrance walkway to the Green House are a wonderful testimony. We will place an order for additional bricks in early December. So, if you wish to participate, please turn your order form into the Church office by December 1st. Order forms are available on the information table outside the Church office. The Green House has rapidly become an integral part of Church programs and the rich history of Isle of Hope UMC. Music & Fine Arts
The Men's Chorus will begin another series of rehearsals this Sunday, October 4, at 7PM. We plan to sing in worship on November 8. This is a great way to enjoy the inspiring music and great fellowship of a choir with only a short-term commitment. ALL men are welcome and encouraged to join us! The next event sponsored by Arts on the Island will be the fourth annual Linedance for Missions, following Make a Difference Day and in conjunction with the church-wide fish fry on Sunday, October 25.
