Get To Know Our Team
Barbara Kulwiec,
In.Keeper, General Manager,
Barbara was born and raised in Germany and has a BA degree in pediatric nursing. She worked as a pediatric intensive care nurse with emphasis on premature babies and was the head nurse of an emergency room of a large children's hospital in Nuernberg, Germany. (Now you know where that nurturing, caring customer service comes from!)
Barbara started as a night auditor for the opening of the Hampton Inn in Rocky Mount, NC in 1995 and quickly moved through the ranks of Sales Manager, Assistant General Manager and then General Manager within three years. She received the Spirit of Pride Award from the Brand and was the Top performing GM and Hotel for the Management Company in 2004.
She moved to Asheville in 2005 to open the new Homewood Suites by Hilton where she was the leader of the team that won the top new hotel award and largest increase in extended sales for the year 2006.
We are happy that Barbara came on board with Hotel Indigo Asheville Downtown on July 1, 2009. We know she is very excited to take Hotel Indigo-Asheville to be the #1 hotel in our market as well as within the brand!
Barbara's personal interests include hiking, dog training, arts and working with wool. |

After years of planning and months of construction, Antler Hill Village will encompass the estate's present and past, providing a relaxing place for new historical exhibits and venues to experience Biltmore's hospitality.
Located between the Winery and Antler Hill Farm (formerly known as River Bend Farm), Antler Hill Village will be open to guests as part of daily admission to the estate. Its name comes from Antler Hill, the "fine high ridge," as noted by Vanderbilt.
