Al Spiewak, in addition to his consulting with the SBDC, is the president of Advanced Learning Resource Solutions, a non-profit that promotes educational best practices. He is an adjunct professor of Entrepreneurship at Fordham's Graduate School of Business, and for three years he was also the Executive Director of the Trenton Business and Technology Center, a business incubator. His BA is from the U. of Penn, his MBA from Cornell U., and his law degree from Albany Law (Union U.).
Until they were sold in 2009, Mr. Spiewak spent 16 years as the co-founder/president of three accredited Montessori schools, which had a combined enrollment of over 400 children. He was responsible for the promotion and marketing, facility management, accounting, payroll, legal compliance, insurance and all other aspects of the operations of the schools. In addition, he was the co-founder/president of an accredited Montessori teacher training school.
Mr. Spiewak has experience in patent and trademark law, legal and financial services, security services, retail management, apparel manufacturing, and real estate management, as well as teaching college level credit and non-credit courses in management and computer skills.
