Heavy Mental If there were such a thing as psychic powers, it would have to look like this!
On Saturday, February 27th, I'll be performing "Heavy Mental," my show of mind-reading and mentalism, in Grand Rapids, Michigan. See for yourself how five ordinary senses can convince you that somehow, some way, there must be a sixth! Click HERE for details. And watch a 4-minute preview now! I will also be presenting, along with D.J. Grothe, (President of the James Randi Educational Foundation) a full-day workshop, "Magic, Science & Skepticism: A Natural Relationship." Details and registration HERE.

"The Honest Liar" Debuts
Be sure to check out my new weekly podcast commentary, "The Honest Liar." Part of the new science and skepticism podcast, "For Good Reason," hosted by D.J. Grothe (formerly host of the "Point of Inquiry" podcast), "Honest Liar" focuses on many kinds of deception and its intersections with our daily lives. I also post weekly additional resources on my blog, and I encourage you to please subscribe via iTunes, and spread the word.

Magical Metaphors
My recent talk about "Empathy: A Job Skill" at the GEL conference
(it stands for "Good Experience Live") in New York City can now be viewed in its entirety online - watch it HERE. Conference producer Mark Hurst, who also publishes the Good Experience newsletter & blog, says: "Jamy Ian Swiss was one of the most popular speakers we've ever had at
the GEL conference. His presentation blended themes of marketing,
design, history, psychology, performance, and ended with a custom-built
experience that brought together a central takeaway of the entire
event." In the past year I've made public speaking appearances for Adobe, Intuit, Electronic Arts, and at conferences including Flash Forward (read this review of my talk; scroll down the page), " Serious Play" at the Art Center College of Design, and The EG (Entertainment Gathering) in Monterey (where I recently returned for my third consecutive appearance). Many of these presentations have been for audiences of designers and user experience folks, while I also do talks about creativity, brainstorming, risk management, and more. Learn more about Magical Metaphors, or contact me now to find out more about corporate speaking engagements customized to your organization's unique needs and challenges - presentations that will leave your people with meaningful new solutions and lasting take-aways. Magic makes it memorable!

I do hope to see you in the coming days and weeks, in Michigan, San Diego or New York City, Los Angeles, San Francisco - or at your next corporate or private event. Drop me a line and let's talk about how we can make magic together!
Sincerely,
Jamy Ian Swiss
